Position Overview:

On behalf of our top-tier telecommunications client, WirelessWerks is currently 2 seeking candidates for Civil Project Manager positions, one based in Calgary and one in Edmonton. The role involves overseeing the construction and installation of wireless telecommunication infrastructure (cell sites). The candidate should be confident, well organized and be able to work well in a team environment. A civil engineering background and PMP designation are considered assets

Job Requirements:

The candidate will be responsible for the civil construction and infrastructure support activities for the Midwest Centre based in Calgary. The greater component of the work is office-based; however the candidate will be required to travel to multiple cell cites to carry out required on-site activities. Key responsibilities include managing the civil activities on cell sites throughout the Midwest. These include coordination of various tasks:

• Site Inspections.
• Develop scope of work
• Request for Quote from contractors.
• Coordination of contractors and customer’s technical personnel.
• Single point of contact for Project Managers, Microwave and RF Engineers for field personnel and contractors.
• Trouble-shoot and resolve all technical issues as a result of network implementation.
• Implementation of GSM, UMTS, HSDPA and Microwave systems.
• Acceptable record of safety and discipline.
• Wireless technology experience essential
  
  

• 2 plus years in the wireless industry, specifically in Construction and/or Project Management.
• Microsoft office applications (including Project).
• Should have a good technical understanding with good documentation skills and excellent decision making ability. Be able to deal with complexity, problem solving, and have strong construction/project management skills including risk, procurement, cost, quality and resource controls.
• Valid drivers license required.
